Unlimited domains, unlimited data storage, unlimited e-mail accounts, and unlimited data transfer are all very appearing, which makes one do a double take when they dig a little further and find that there are actually a few plans available. There is a $4.95 per month plan if you purchase a 1-3 years package.  It’s $4.45 per month if you want a 4 year package.

Their is also a top of the line offering that Just Host refers to as the Just Pro package ($19.95 per month) which includes things like a dedicated IP address, a PositiveSSL certificate and daily backups.

After all, with unlimited everything, what could possibly entice one to pay $6 more per month for the Just Pro Business package than for the Just package? According to Just Host’s sales material, there are 5 possible answers: server speed, advertising credits, backup frequency, number of free domains for life, and a spam guard. Before exploring these differences, it might be instructive to see what the packages have in common.

On top of the unlimited storage, bandwidth, and e-mail addresses, all of Just Host’s plans come with a basic control panel interface that includes both a basic statistics tracking suite as well as a panel for webmasters to have some control over how their site is viewed by Google. Instant setup, an anytime money back guarantee, and 24/7 technical support via a web-driven chat feature that seems to be automated or a toll-free line round out the universal feature offerings.

Both the Just plan and the Just Pro plan feature a spam guard called Spam Assassin that the Home plan lacks. The Home plan doe come with a single free domain for life, and each successive plan adds another free domain for life, though all of Just Host’s plans can handle unlimited additional domains if customers are willing to pay for them. The Home plan and Business plan are both backed up monthly, and the Just Pro plan is backed up weekly, all of which are very poor by industry standards. The Home “Just”  plan comes with $75 of advertising credits, the Prp comes with $100, and the Business Pro comes with $200. The only problem with the advertising credits is that most of the credits are to places that few people have heard of, and almost nobody needs. Miva anyone? The server speed issue is also hard to quantify, all Just Host leaves consumers with is the fact their Home plan is fast, while the Business plan is faster, and of course, the Business Pro plan is the fastest.

Our advice is to stick with the cheaper “Just plan”.  For $2.23/month it just isn’t worth upgrading to the $19.95/month business plan which just has a few more features.
